Is there a difference between studying social science and behavioural science or is it just a part of the latter? What are the prospects of studying behavioural science in India and abroad?
Behavioural sciences focus on human decision-making and communications in group and individual contexts. It is somewhat interrelated to social science but they are still not to be confused since the job prospect and career advancement is quite different in both the fields. They differ on their intensity of scientific analysis of different types of behaviour. Behavioural sciences summarize observed data to explore the conclusion processes and ways of communicating with them. The other fields of psychology and social neuroscience are also included in this subject. On the other hand social sciences teach you observant structure to study the processes of a social system through the consequent effects of social organization on the lives of the individual and groups. They usually take in fields like sociology, economics, history, counselling, public health, anthropology, and political science.
There is a good job prospect in India if you study behavioural science at an advanced level. Behavoiural science finds demands and requirements in Anthropology, Ethnology, as a Criminologist, Criminal Profiler, Psychology, Sociologist, Corporate Coach, Economic Analyst, Market Researcher, Neuro-marketing and Health Education/Public Health. Pay is also great and government bodies employing for these purposes pay even more than the private organizations. In foreign countries too, students of behavioural science can find a good scope for job and that can only be followed by a post graduation degree from a foreign institute that prepares you to deal with the subjects in that region just as Indian institute would prepare you to handle problems that are more prominent here.
