JSW is a flagship company of the JSW Group; is an incorporated steel manufacturer. The company offers the entire gamut of steel products like Hot Rolled, Cold Rolled, Galvanized, Galvalume, Pre – painted Galvanised, Pre – painted Galvalume, TMT Rebars, Wire Rods and Special Steel Bars, rounds and blooms. The company has set up its manufacturing units in various places, they are, Toranagallu in Karnataka, Vasind and Tarapur in Maharashtra and Salem in Tamil Nadu. The selection procedure of JSW steel company is observed to begin with a written test followed by a group discussion round then comes the technical interview round followed by the HR interview round. The written test consists of Aptitude and the domain section. The domain section is nothing but the technical section. There are around 90 questions which are to be completed in 90 minutes. There is no negative marking applicable in the evaluation of the written test. The questions cover the topics like, modelling, simple aptitude, calculating area using equations, graphs, passages, synonyms and antonyms.

The group discussion round is as such a non - elimination round. The discussions last up to 10 minutes. Topics like ‘will Anna Hazare be the next Gandhi’ are asked to discuss or any other latest topics which are flashed in the newspaper may be asked to discuss. Once the group discussion round is over, next comes the technical round. The questions in the technical round are focussed from the topics which are concerned with the job profile you have applied for, so for example if you have applied for a construction profile, then you must be thorough with all the civil engineering subjects.

The HR interview focuses on the analysis of communication skills, personality of the candidate and to see the personal background of the candidate. To clear all the rounds and especially the technical interview round, as the technical interview round consists of difficult questions; hence you should be thoroughly prepared with all the core subjects of your area.
