MAH CET is back for admission to MBA/ MMS course in 2014 in Maharashtra
After one year of discontinuation in 2013, MAH CET has been re-introduced for admission to MBA and MMS courses in Maharashtra for the session starting 2014. MAH CET was dropped last year in favour of CMAT conducted by AICTE. MAH CET is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra.
CMAT which is an online test drew even less than 50% applicants for the total number of seats available through out the state. Institutes where seats were left vacant demanded the re-introduction of MAH CET saying that the pen and paper based MAH CET is more popular for admission among the management aspirants in the state.
As per the notification by DTE, 85% of seats in government-run and aided MBA/MMS institutes in the state and 65% seats at private unaided and minority institutes will be filled through MAH – MBA/MMS –CET from 2014. Another 15% seats will be filled through All India exams like CAT, JMET, MAT, XAT, ATMA, CMAT.
Students appearing for CMAT will get seats through All India quota now.
The test will be conducted sometime in Feb -2014.
