McAfee was established in 1987. It is an American global computer security software company, headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

Placement process at McAfee

In this section I am going to discuss the placement process for freshers at McAfee. The selection process of the company consists of 3 rounds. These rounds are as follows:

1. Written Exam
2. Technical Interview
3. HR Interview

The academic criteria for McAfee is the candidate must be a B. Tech (Computer Science / IT / Electronics) student and he got 60% throughout (Class X, XII and Graduation).

The total time allotted to the written exam is 90 minutes. There is no negative marking in the paper.

The written test consist of four sections: Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Technical section.

Aptitude section consists of questions based on time & work, time, speed & distance, percentages, profit & loss, boats and streams, number system, HCF LCM etc.

Logical reasoning consists of questions covering the topics of blood relation, direction, coding and decoding etc.

Verbal ability section consists of questions on English language like fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, paragraph completion, sentence correction and vocabulary.

Technical section consists of questions mostly from C and DBMS.

Only those candidates who clear the written exam will qualify for the next round.

For the technical interview round they mostly ask questions about your area of specialization. If you have an IT background they may ask questions from basic c++, Java, Data structure, DBMS, RDBMS, basics of computer hardware and on similar topics.

In the HR Interview round they test your patience and stress level. In this round the main focus remains on communication skill, behavior and confidence.
