Question : Several MoU/LoI have been signed with numerous countries for bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the tourism sector. Elaborate.

Ministry of Tourism, GoI has signed several MoUs/LoIs with numerous countries for bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the tourism sector

Main objectives of these MoUs/LoIs is as follows:

- Data and information exchange pertaining to tourism

- Facilitation of cooperation among tourism stakeholders including hotels and tour operators

- Exchange programmes for cooperation in HRD

- Investment in tourism as well as the hospitality sector

- Visit exchanges for tour operators, media and opinion makers for promoting two way tourism

- Experience exchange in fields such as promoting, marketing, management and destination development

- Participation in travel fairs/exhibitions in each other’s nation
