First National Security Adviser - Brajesh Mishra
Functions :
Deals with issues of external and internal security, military affairs, conventional and non-conventional defense, space and high technology, counter insurgency, counter terrorism, economy and environment.
Formation:
a) The Strategic Policy Group
b) National Security Advisory Board (NSAB)
c) Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC)
