Projecting Gulmarg as Manali in "Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani"
Projecting Gulmarg as Manali in "Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani" - Films should be allowed to take liberties.
Movies have always been an important part of every individual’s life. Whatever is projected in the movies we often tend to believe it as fact. But are films allowed to take liberties?
For:
- Movies play a substantial part in enhancing tourism
- Due to security reasons it’s common to shoot films at a different location and project it as another setting
- To boost the local tourism in Kashmir which is striding slowly towards normalcy
- Public gets to learn about new tourist places through the eye of the camera
Against:
- It was never too safe to shoot in Kashmir and nearby areas of Kashmir, until now and hence in a lot of movies, other places were projected as Kashmir
- People can get wrong impressions about the place that is projected and hence be disappointed
- In-spite of all the provisions made to shoot the movies at a particular location, there is recognition accredited to the state and the people involved
Conclusion:
- Unless the security issues are involved, films should not shoot at one place and project another
