  • River Ganges has more of religious value rather than calling this just as a river. We can consider this topic under two different views – considering the river with its auspicious religious value, or considering the same as any other river body.

River Ganga is considered a holy river and this is one of the major reason for its water body getting more and more polluted day-by-day. The number of people taking a holy dip per day, the number of people dissolving the cremated ash of the body of their loved ones, in addition to the dead bodies being burnt and dragged into the river; every other feature adds on to its pollution. Government is facing serious issues in cleaning this water body to avoid the spread of various diseases through its water.

On the other hand, this holy river is bound by lots of good beliefs and traditions. This river like other big river bodies makes the land on its banks fertile and has rich resources filled within it. The river yields plenty benefits to the human kind, now its our duty to repay the nature by maintaining its purity and avoid polluting its water body further due to our superstitious beliefs.
