In today’s time when inflation is on its peak, everything has sky high costs attached to it, in such a time how much does the poor man’s meal cost?

For:
- A family consisting of 5 members and staying in the city will be a family who will be cooking at home, in that case the cereals and pulses available to them will be on the open market price
- Dhabas, being a commercial business will be charging more as a lot of extra costs are attached to it like the grains and cereals are not at subsidised prices, then the tent, table chair charges, staff charges, etc. which will not be applicable at home
- The cereals and grains available for poor in open market are at extremely low prices like: wheat is available for Rs2/ Kg and so on.

Against:

- Are the above mentioned rates yet applicable, that is a question?
- Because of our meagre operational abilities, the public distribution system does not work well and the poor people don’t get the subsidised material for their cooking
- People, who are staying alone, have no other option but to resort to dhabas for their hunger desires, they have to pay more and these prices will not be applicable to them.

Conclusion:

The politicians are not appointed just for the rich or the poor people, they are appointed to cater to each and every mass in the country. Statements like these should not be made, especially in the scenario when the entire country is being faced with high inflation. Statements made by politicians should be made while keeping in consideration all the poor as well as the rich.
