My name is Nitin Tyagi. I’ve been working with XYZ Ltd. as a Senior Safety Officer at the New Farakka Plant site, since July’09.
However, I have been recently promoted to be the Deputy Manager, Safety and expected to join the functioning at the company’s plant in Bahr, Patna on 28th March’14.
In this regard, I beg to state that I am not in a position to go ahead with the transfer given my ailing wife who’s recently diagnosed with blood cancer and thus needs our families to be around for a speedy recovery. At this point in time, it would be very difficult for me to leave her side and resume duty in a far-off place. As you might understand, it is already a trying time for me, more because I’m the only man in the family post my father’s demise last year.
I also understand the fact that refusing the transfer might deprive me of the promotion to a higher designation, as well. This is about my little knowledge of the company policies, as of now.
It would be very helpful if you be kind enough to cancel my transfer order with due consideration to the circumstances.

I am ABC, received your job offer letter just an hour ago. It would be a great honour to join your firm; but my sincere apology for my inability to accept this offer now.
As my parents have decided a marriage alliance for me, I may not be able to commit my term of service. I will be shifting to Mumbai after my marriage and this will call for me to quit my job. Switching jobs within a short span would be no enjoyment to take the essence of work. I prefer to give my utmost effort to give the assigned project the best possible shape. Leaving the projects mid-way without experiencing its result is not my cup of tea.
I would rather provide you with suitable candidates for the profile that you have offered me. You can trust them for their efficiency and work quality. They are Mr. MN (ph:xxxxxxxxxxx) and Ms.PQ (ph:xxxxxxxxxxxx). Both of them are in search of a similar profile now and will happily accept your offer. You can have a personal discussion with them for the same.
I once again thank you for the offer. Kindly let me know for any similar profile in Mumbai. Though with a heavy heart, I am happy that I am rejecting your offer for a good reason.
