State Bank of India is a government-owned corporation with its headquarter in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The bank is ranked 232nd on the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's biggest corporations as of 2016.
Here, I am going to discuss the selection and interview process conducted in campus placement at State Bank of India.
Selection Process at State Bank of India
The selection process at SBI consists of two rounds:
1. Written Exam
2. Interview
The first round of the process is Written Exam. In this, there are two sets – First paper is objective types that includes Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language and second paper includes Professional Knowledge. The duration for the test will be 2 hours and 20 minutes. The questions will have 1/4th negative marking per question.
Some sample questions asked in the test are:
1. Abhishek and Prakash are standing on ground 50 meters apart. The angles of elevation for these two to the top of a tree are 60° and 30°. What is height of the tree?
2. There are thirty students in a class. Varun ranks third among the boys. Alia ranks fifth among the girls. Varun is one rank below Alia in the class. No two students hold the same rank. What is Alia’s rank in the class?
3. Spot the error: Ritesh invited Manish and me (i) / to spend (ii) / the weekend with he (iii) / and his family. (iv)
Professional Knowledge includes questions for two posts – Deputy Manager (Law) and Assistant Manager (System) from topics like, Banking Regulated Laws, Negotiable Instrument, Financial Analysis, DBMS, Information Systems, Data Structure etc.
The questions that might be asked in Professional Knowledge are:
Deputy Manager (Law)
1. As per section 147 of the Negotiable Instruments Act,1881, every offence punishable under the Act are:
(a) Non-compudable (b) Compudable (c) Cognizable (d) Both (a) and (c)
Assistant Manager (System)
1. Which protocol is used for end-to-end delivery?
(a) TCP (b) SCTP (c) UDP (d) SMTP
The last round is Interview. In this, candidates can expect questions from both, Technical as well as HR round. Candidates must come well-prepared for interview.
