Should a CM protest on streets?
After Arvind Kejriwal, The CM of Delhi has started protest on the streets for suspension of three police officers because the Delhi police comes under central government which refused to act as per the CM. the police officers came under fire because of rape and domestic violence cases in the city.
For :
1. Every citizen has the right to protest on the streets to make their voice heard and CM is also a citizen of the country.
2. In a diarchy before independence, the elected Indians used to protest against the Britishers to raise their demands.(Delhi also has some sort of diarchy where power is divided between central and Delhi govt.)
3. In similar cases, Mamta Banerjee the CM of Kolkata has also protested on the streets while being the Chief Minister so this is not the first instance of a CM protesting.
4.No law restricts the CM or even Prime Minister of a country to protest on the roads.
5. Gandhiji also advocated the method of peaceful protest for the welfare of the nation.
Against:
1. When a CM sits on the street, it creates an anarchy like situation with a serious threat to security especially in a city like Delhi.
2. CM has many other constitutional ways to make his points in the government rather than a street protest.
3. If a CM sits on a protest the government’s function come to a halt and it disrupts the state machinery.
4. It represents the lack of faith in the democratic institutions and create chaos among the public and shows the inability of government.
5. Protest are for the common public not a CM isn’t as he has better ways to voice his demand which common people do not have.
Conclusion:
Protest by the CM on streets is not illegal and can be resorted to when no other option is left but it does not set a liable precedent and can create anarchy in the state. So any head of the state should try to practice all the available constitutional methods for raising their demands and only then take a call on street protest.

- An individual protest on the streets to get his demands be heard and fulfilled by the government. The Chief Minister of the state is himself a part of the government. He is bounded by legal and social duties. He needs to understand the value of his power and status in the state and be an ideal to the public.
A person having some genuine demands on the streets are backed up by the public to raise his voice and they can lead him to the position to have the authority of changing the present scenario. But after reaching the position of the Chief Minister of the state, it is the duty of the CM to carry on the voice of the public to the higher level in a legal way.
Protesting on to the streets can’t help a CM, as the public can no longer help him rise any further. A CM’s view and notion is self-explanatory that it is the demand of the public, which doesn’t need to be portrayed in the form of rallies on the streets.
It is not understandable for the CM to protest on the streets for any demand. He definitely needs to move in the legal way to get the demands passed as laws and be implemented across the state for its betterment.

- Mr. Kejriwal is often called 'man in hurry', which I see as a positive remark. Because ask one thing to ourselves, 'Do we not want things to happen to us as quickly as we desire'? Being a CM doesn't take that away from him.
Secondly, its ridiculous to call a CM going on dharna as 'unconstitutional' because everybody knows that it is in a good cause. All the scams and flaws in system that he is against should be seen in light of 'unconstitutional' before calling him so.
Thridly, things are slow-paced because they follow some protocols. These need to be changed through new methods, may be a protest headed by CM because after all nobody comes on street to fill pockets rather a high motivation and will power is required to be the element of change for betterment.

- sitting for a protest is not wrong but bieng in the post of CM u shud behave like a responsible person. i m not against of arvind kejriwal but he also think about it dat 25% of population is looking kejriwal action and try to copied it so if he sits in street for just making his work done completed whether they right or wrong then the 25% people also doing these protest by seeing their hero doing the same thing

- In my opinion, a cm should not be a part of such protests coz all these situations creates chaos & trouble . Creating such situations where common people find difficulties in following their schedule is not justufied by the actvif fighting for the right for the people.
Moreover a cm can put his views forward by many other cinstitutional ways not jst by protesting.

- One thing I must mention about this, that constitution is made for the welfare public of the public not public made for it, so I think if any citizen has problem regarding the government or this system then it should be considerd and action must be taken by the government and try to sort it even they have to make changes in our constitution , after al human creatures are like human only , it cannot be perfect

- if a person is correct in all sences only in that situation he takes a step like protest even knowing the whole country is seeing him. and if protest is only a way to grab his right then he have to protest but he has a lot a issues and responsiblities to care for so not to waste precious time for which he is the cm of a state.

- i think CM is a common citizen so according to the law he can protest on road but as protest is the last stage to rise the voice so CM should go through democratic way to solve the problem. it should not be done for the publicity as kejriwal sir has done in delhi.people will lose faith on democracy if their CM is involve in this type of activity without thinking about the other way. it will also harm the respective state to work smoothly and economically.

- i think a CM post has lots of integrity attached to it. when it comes onto solving a issue ,a cm is d highest authority in a state.but when a person at the helm of such prestigious post resorts to public protests that does less for the public but adds more to the ruckus.when a cm sits down on protest it attracts attention from everyone and the reason for such action will be criticized. a cm has to hold a rationale approach rather than act like a rebellious teenager coz his action are to be in harmony of constitution and the peace of state. democracy allows you to express your dissent but does not allow to uphold law by shouting at the top of your voice.At the end of the day such approach will be deemed inadmissible on grounds of political & administrative immaturity and will be seen conspicuous.

- I believe there are certain basic rules through which a society is governed.
As we have heard it, to change the system , you have to be in the system.
Events like these may encourage all sections of people using such means to demand whatever they may feel like, whether justified or not.
Society doesn't work this way. if AAP has believed in peace, this isnt exactly what his followers are resorting to.
There is a fine line which need not be disturbed.

- Being an Indian citizen ,a CM has all rights to protest on streets . what justifies a
protest is the cause for which it is being held. It should not be used as shortcut to
get your demands fulfilled. A CM must understand that Indian political system is
governed by constitution and no man in any capacity is above it. System can not
be changed as and when one pleases but there are procedures in place which should be adhered to while demanding such change . Also , a CM's utmost duty is to
ensure the well being of his people therefore a protest should not be held at the
cost of their convenience
