Should Porn websites be banned in India?

Adult videos are referred as porn, though this word is no more Alien to anyone, especially who knows the working of Internet. In a conservative Indian society, porn has given rise to increasing number of rape cases, mental ill health of porn addicted people , marital rapes, rapid hormonal changes in children at young age leading to heinous crimes. Do you agree should it banned in India?

Yes

1. Porn should be totally banned in India, it has literally increased the number rape of cases in india.

2. In Indian society, there exists no porn industries from which our country gains economically, The brazzers etc all are International based firms.

3.Due to open and free content readily available online, indian girls have to face a lot of problems while intimating, even with his own husband, in case he is addicted.

4.Youth population that accounts major part of India is totally being hollowed by such activities, and this is the reason why instead of to be in class, they are found in various sex scandal videos.

5.Also, though some people consider porn as a source of knowledge, but sex at young age leads to no good other than increasing cases of abortion in india.

6.companies dealing in contraceptive pills, condoms etc all are mainly american firms, which are playing a big role in gaining colossal amounts from india.

Conclusion

India though being a conservative society cannot fully eliminate the porn content from India, But it can make it age restricted. This can be best achieved from using Adhaar card UID with adult websites, which will help make it age restricted.

  • Yes there should be certain age limit of watching these but should not be banned completely.It certainly causes premature harm in brain of a child/teenager.It brings perversion in mind .
    But for adults there is no harm in watching porn films .Nothing can harm us unless we let them allow to do so.Everyone watched porn already at least once in their life,even those who are supporting to ban porn films .We can see Sunny Leone has been topping the list of most searched personalities on Google from India for four years on a row now. We all accepted her.So why is there so much fuss when we are talking about porn films.
    Moreover there is no impact of porn on raping ,molesting women,it solely depends on the character of a human being.
    Though everything has its limit.Anything overdo causes mental illness.
    In my opinion porn sites should be strictly restricted for under 18+ and porn websites should charge money for visiting their sites.That is how we can reduce watching porn frequently.And extremely strict punishment should be enacted so that before doing such heinous acts ,perverts thinks thousand times.

  • I think the government should ban porn website completely because rape cases n crime against girls are increasing day by day and government should ban vulgar words and videos from hollywood or bollywood movies that's the another reason for rape and criminal cases in INDIA ...now a days we can't watch a full movie with our family because it contain vulgar videos and words

  • if a correct sex education is given to youngsters at correct age believe me there is no need for porn in any part of india...children sees it as it seems something new and exciting to them ..but if we already know that there is a deep well ahead only a fool will move ahead..such is the case ...lack of knowledge is the cause for impaired porn watchers..you can banned a porn site you can ban the hormones released in his /her body

  • I think the porn websites should be banned completed. And those are saying that they will get knowledge from the porn videos there were no porn videos in the ancient time then how the childrens were borned at that time and if you want then you can buy a simple book of kamasutra to know sex positions. And another when you will see a porn video then there is somewhat effect on your mind and the porn videos they are showing sex between teacher and student then sex between brother and sister this is a shameful thing. And you can fulfil your sex thirst with your wife also or by masturbation. there should be complete ban on porn and there should be sex education for childrens and adults also. Because in many rape cases the adults are involved.

    I am totally disagree for that issue because porn websites its not a solution for control the rape cases and we always talking about the sex education pattern follow in school . government should be to do awareness program because of that people know about what is right , what is wrong .

    Why we are talking about only for porn websites and we should banned other sexual program most of the movie we seeing half naked girl in the movies other issue we also know about IPL matches and seeing all the matches but we are not talking about the cheer leader girl she always wear half cloth government should banned that kind of event affected our culture .

  • For those who are saying that it's against our culture, i think they haven't heard of khajuraho temples , kamasutra or random mention of sex in many of our ancient scriptures. India was always democratic nudity & sex were never a taboo in our country. Rapes and other social evils against women have nothing to do with Porn, rather it has to do with what type of thinking a society breeds. You respect your wife but you also have sex with her. So treat women respectfully.

  • I don't think banning porn websites would be a good idea.First of all in a democratic country we should have the freedom of seeing what we want.It won't reduce rape cases infact it will increase such cases.A person can relieve his or her sexual desire or sexual need by just watching porn but if he or she is restricted to do so, then he or she will opt for something else which may be harmful for the society.People always have the intentions to do the things which is restricted and if not permitted may cause other harms.Some sexual problems are also solved through porns.But it is really a good idea to make the porn websites age restricted so that children don't get access to these porn sites.Infact the children should be given sex education.But making it age restricted does not solve the problem of rape cases because in most of the rape cases adults are involved (18 plus age).So banning porn sites will never reduce rape cases.

  • I would like the oppurtunity to start the discussion. My answer to this question is No. Porn websites must not be banned. According to me, Most Indian families are not bold enough to discuss such topics with their own children especially illiterate and conservative families. Even many families are not forward enough to talk what happens when a child moves to teenage.So, I believe Sex education is must but there is no need to ban porn because banning it will ban a person's right to liberty. Moreover, Rape, Child Abuse etc... such heinious crime happens when a person has lost his mind and is not feared of law and order of doing it. I believe strict laws to be made for these crimes like country banishment for life etc.

  • sex has always been taboo in India, we do hesitate while such discussion and topic comes in front of us.But are there not many others things which directly affect the society rather than a thing which exist naturally. objective of banning port site is to stop heinous crimes such as rape and sexual abuse , but are they all instigated by porn site? the answer is absolutely no. taking a parallel example knife can be a potential weapon to kill someone so should government put a ban on it? No in that case no because it will be a totally illogical. we give education and moral and ethical values to our children by saying that we should not harm any people. there are thing in our society which are directly affecting our society and they do instigate such crimes like rape and murder, which is alcohol.why government has not put ban on that, rather they preach by saying it is injurious to health. banning any thing would not help to achieve the ultimate goal, internet savy people know very well to find such content and these are easily available even after such ban.
    so instead of banning without any proper logic and out come government should do reform in our educational system and definitely in our judicial system to create a deterrence again such crimes.

  • I agree with my friends that porn sites must not be banned rather it must be age restricted.actually commenting on what is right and wrong is quite easy for us now , but my friends if u can imagine that one day when you found that your child became addicted to these porn sites in very young age than i think we will ask that why are'nt these sites be banned ? So answer is if we maintain the good environment around someone than it does not make any sense either he/she used to see porn movies and i also want to add that porn sites are not responsible for rapes rather these are some ways where we can learn that there is a lot of difference between rape and sex.
    If someone think that all these porn material kind of something came from foreign countries then i would suggest them to get some knowlrdge about 'kamasutra'.

  • Porn shouldn't be banned but age restricted.It is not that watching porns are increasing the rate of rape.But it's the poor mentality of the rapists or anyone,who is taking it as a play.Strong laws must be imposed and enacted which will stop the rape rate.

    Today most oe the people have excess to internet especially young kid are highly addicted to it. Young children get easly attracted towards it.

  • According to me porn sites should not be banned because it is of no worth doing it as it is India and people who really want to watch porn will get access to it any how.
    The next thing that we can reduce the rapes is baseless because if it is so that the others countries which have not banned porn there also such rapes would have taken place.It is not about what one see its all about ones thinking and ones values.so instead of restricting porn we should try to change peoples thought and way of thinking by bringing awareness and increasing education in the country

    See the movies !!!! Are they not soft porn ??? You can't watch today movies with your family !!! TV commercials are filled with soft porn !!! Ads on condoms, pills pop up now and then during the serials. They should be banned also then if porn sites are banned in India.

    Moreover , people is watching porn sitting comfortably in their houses. No harm done to anybody !!! And what about our Right of Freedom ??? And who is somebody else to decide what we should watch or what should not ?

    We are paying for the internet services. So, we have all the right to decide what we will watch and what not.

    Banning is also not a good idea at all !!! Every now and then , new sites pop up and old ones can always change their web address if they face ban !!! How many sites we are going to ban ???? All ??? What a Juvenile idea , indeed !!!

    As per my opinion, banning is not a solution at all ! Instead , let people decide what to watch and what not to watch as we Indians are highly intellectuals.

By imposing the banned on porn Indian government violating the law under article 21 which is right to personal liberty and come on guys we are living in 21 century there is no shame in watching porn and there are some people who have conservative mindset who are willing not to change with time and come up with stupid laws .

  • There's no point in banning porn in India although making it age restricted is a much better alternative. With sex education being barred from indian schools , do we expect some kind of enlightenment to occur in our mind! At the same time , excess of anything is bad ! Excess of porn affects the whole mindset of a person n he's coerced to commit heinous crime. Most vulnerable are the teenagers who undergo rapid hormonal changes n inflict a lot of damage to their body mechanism. People should try to understand instead of banning things we should give sex education in the school so that when someone see it they know exactly what they are seeing and not cause anything that cause shame on themself . also my friend is saying that condom, contraceptive pills etc thing are not manufactured by Indian company but if it is that so still we are living in a global world where we are bind to do trade and they are not such things which cause problems but they eradicate some problems which can happen if someone s doing sex and not using it.
