Should senior leaders have been accommodated in NDA - II cabinet?
Modi is a dynamic leader who is known for his “iron-fist” governance style. He started his new journey with a simple concept of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’ following which he constituted a small cabinet. However, in this small cabinet, he didn’t leave any place for the senior leaders including L.K. Advani, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Murli Manohar Joshi. The seniors were not made a part of the parliamentary board which is the highest decision making body. What do you think? Should senior leaders have been accommodated in NDA - II cabinet?
Yes
• It seems that Modi has totally ruled out the significance of experience and knowledge while selecting the parliamentary board.
• A generational change doesn’t means that the highest decision making body should not have the senior most leaders of party.
• The move is clearly the expansion of centralization of power which was reflected when Narendra Modi was elected as Prime Ministerial candidate.
• Murli Manohar Joshi and L.K. Advani are founding members of the BJP who were there with the party in turbulent times of 1990s.
• Advani and Joshi, in their eighties, are still a lot more alert, fit and quick-witted as compared to the younger leaders and are active in parliamentary sessions.
• The decision of not including the seniors will create fissures in BJP which will see a sharp reaction in coming time.
• Why there was a need of new committee named as 'Margdarshak Mandal' which is mocked by opposition parties as 'Mookdarshak Mandal'?
No
• BJP senior leaders are not sidelined as a separate group named 'Margdarshak Mandal' is formed which will act as a guiding committee for party.
• With the RSS, BJP party doesn’t have any option but to sideline the seniors from parliamentary body.
• There should be self-responsibility in senior leader to hand over the positions to the next generation with grace.
• Change is the law of nature and BJP took a bold step and gave space to a generational change in its organization. It is a part of transformation process.
• Party is more important than the candidates and therefore, decision should be taken as per the interest of the party.
• There is a retirement age for all central employees. So, why should political leaders get additional benefits?
Conclusion
There is no system in the political career where leaders decide to get retire. Even I agree there is no need of such system as far as the political leaders are an asset for the party. PM Narendra Modi has always preferred a compact cabinet and has shown success with his principles in Gujarat. However, he should remember that now it is more about political stability of nation. Though he has won with majority, still any fissures in the party and its aftermath will bring no good to him.

- Excluding the senior leaders of the BJP frim the parliament is a very bold move by Narendra Modi. Such decisions obviously have their own pros and cons. Accomodating the senior leaders will give their experience as the treasure for running the natiin efficiently. On the other hand, giving their place to the youth will fasten the progress path.
Another big consideration is the ego and superiority complex. Two big forces in a single place will definitely end in ego conflicts within the party which will be no good for the nation. The big shots could prove fatal in the combination, though they may excel induvidually in the same area.
The experience of the senior leaders could have been a wise judgement in utilizing their expetience and expertise. The cabinet could have been more efficient provided the same would have been a combination of senior leaders with the young energetic blood. Such a set of cabinet could have yielded better and at a faster rate. Inclusion of the senior leaders is definitely a criteria to be considered.
