Using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects on your children
Using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects on your children.
One of the most revolutionary products developed in this century is probably the computer. The kind of influence it has caused on our lives is unmatchable.
It has become an integral part of our existence and our dependence on it is increasing with every passing day. It benefits us in lot of ways. It enables children to acquire knowledge. Information available on internet makes them more curious and more aware about the happenings around them.
For example, not only Google, but even Youtube is updated with certain educational videos which help the students in a lot of ways. For example, there are amazing videos which tell students how to professionally dress up for an interview or what body postures to use and which ones to avoid. Some interviews of great leaders and social figures inspire the children in more than one way.
In this technology driven era, computer literate children definitely have an edge over others in all spheres of life. Multiple programs in computers such as MS Word, excel, Power Point and Microsoft Video Maker make children more proficient in their presentations and helps build their confidence, thereby already preparing them for the Corporate World.
Computers are also a wonderful medium of entertainment be it playing games, listening to songs, or connecting with friends through social networking websites like Facebook etc.
Hence, if used in moderation, computer only has positives. The problem arises when it becomes an addiction and people start spending elongated hours on it for no productive reason. As a result, the health starts suffering, chances of obesity increase and social life gets disturbed. However, parental guidance while using computers is a must for young children to avoid them from engaging in wrongful activities like watching porn and other adult stuff. Moreover, when children spend most of their time in the computer, consequently their academic performance declines.
Hence, I strongly believe that computers provide more advantages than disadvantages if used in a disciplined way.

- Yes I agree that using a computer everyday can have more negative than positive effects on children. Computers have been made to make life easy and convenient. It definitely does so. It makes a child smarter and knowledgeable. Through the internet he can gain a lot of knowledge about many things and can also be up to date about the happenings around him.
But when the usage of computer increases beyond its limit then it has major negative impact on the children. Children get so hooked to the games online that they don’t provide sufficient time to their studies and this in turn leads to their academic downfall. They don’t find studies interesting as their minds are always into the computer. With social networking sites like Facebook and twitter, children get more distracted. Spending too much time on the computers every day also influences their behavior in a negative way. It leads to less physical activity and can also result in health problems like obesity and eye power. Parents should restrict their child’s time each day which he can spend on the computer. Crossing that time limit will have an adverse impact on him in all spheres. Thus, if used within the limit and for entertainment and knowledgeable purpose then it can bring in lot of positive effects with itself.
