What are the cons that I need to consider?
Like every job, there are a numbers of cons that you should consider before becoming a teacher:
- Low pay as a fresher and as compared to other professionals who have the same degree. For example as a software developer, a candidate can earn more than a computer science teacher.
- Some parents really act cynic and mean for their wards. There are times when even Principals and co-ordinators also act very authoritatively.
- A teacher faces a lot of pressure and is accountable for the performance of the students. There are times when a student doesn't perform due to certain reasons of his own, but the teachers has to suffer the blame game.
- Not all people respect teachers. Teachers are usually underrated.
- There is a lot of paperwork, i.e., checking the answer sheets, preparing the progress card, attendance sheets, maintaining the MIS, which is all very tedious, hectic and annoying.
- The whole education system has become corrupted which is sometimes very frustrating for a teacher.
- As a teacher, you need to face misbehaviour of some students, disrespectful parents and school bullies.
- Sometimes you need to stand the whole day, which can result in sore feet.
- Long hours of preparation are required for the topics before giving lectures.
