Dermatology is a vast field and had a variety of interest areas to choose one from. Aspirants can specialize in Medical dermatology, which deals with internal and external skin diseases, drug reactions. Cosmetic dermatology deals with skin treatment through cosmetic procedures including dermabrasion, chemical peels, face lifts, liposuctions etc. after examining the type of the skin, cosmetic dermatologists treat scars, acne, hair fall, wrinkles, black spots, pigmentation etc.
Dermato-pathology is another area of specialization which includes diagnosing and monitoring of skin diseases which are infectious, immunological and degenerative. Mohs surgery and surgical dermatology is the field that deals with the cure of diseases like cancer and tumors. One more interest area is pediatric dermatology that deals with treatment of skin diseases in infants, children and adolescents.
