Responsibilities of a teacher are greater than those of parents. The role of a teacher is not as easy as it seems. A teacher not only teaches the student but also imparts values and morals to untrained minds the whole sole motive of Education. He should love to share information with others. A teacher should be dynamic, innovative and intellectual to catalyse the process of exchange of Ideas. A teacher is friendly with students but not their friend. There has to be something authoritative about a teacher. He should be keen for learning and for employment and implementation of new techniques in teaching.
How can I become a college teacher?
Every university and college has its own norms in accordance with different accreditation boards such as AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education), UGC (University Grants Comission). While many colleges look for candidates who hold doctorate degree, PH.D or M.Phil while other Colleges employ teachers who hold a post graduate degree in the discipline.
For instance, many M.B.A. colleges hire candidates who hold the same degree or a specialisation in any of the related fields. There are many engineering colleges hire candidates who hold a technical degree in the same field.
