Marketing involves all those activities which are targeted towards movement of goods and services from the point of their production to the point of consumption. It creates demand and desire for the product and ensures its distribution to the end consumer. It looks into the needs of the customers and caters towards fulfilling them. It also identifies, anticipates and satisfies customer requirements. It is the most crucial function out of all the other functions like HR, Finance etc. which in turn depend upon marketing for their very own survival. It aims at selling the product to the right people at the right time and right place.
