What does a career in astronomy mean?

It is the science that does the study of motion, nature, constitution, history and possible future developments of heavenly bodies. It unsolves the mysteries of the universe beyond the atmosphere of earth like movement of planets, showering of meteors and the celestial bodies. With the increase in unraveling the mysteries of the atmosphere and the challenges of doing the nuclear tests, need of astronomy scientists are increasing. Astronomy graduates study the laws that govern these system and its parts thereof and the effects that they produce on one another.

Professionals in this field have to observe and gather data about the heavenly bodies, it then has to be analyzed, compared with the data available and then either the historical and recent theories are to be refuted or new theories are to be built.
