What is Botany?
Botany - scientific study of plants.
Plants can range from smallest bacteria to huge trees present in the nature. They may include algae, fungi, lichens, mosses, ferns, conifers and flowering plants.The people who study botany are referred to as Botanist. They study the behavior of plants from the chromosome level to the reproduction process.
The main tasks that they carry out are:
-Studying how plants interact with other organisms and the environment.
- Finding new species and studying the structure of plants
- Conducting experiments in order to discover how plants grow under different conditions.
- Conducting experiments to find how plants convert simple chemical compounds into more complex chemicals.
- Studying the effect of genetic information in DNA on plant development.
