What is more important to you - money or success?

What is more important to you - money or success?

This is a tricky question, as money and success both are important and you cannot outweigh the importance of one over the other. Personally you might prefer money over success or success over money, but it is better to be neutral when answering this question in an interview:
You can say, that money and success both are important for you, but if you have to choose you would choose success. The reason being, if one is successful money often follows and you need not focus on money over success..

  • Either of them is incomplete without the other but the interviewer is keen on knowing how you place your answer in a tricky situation as this. Incentives makes you work harder but success is the ultimate goal. You can begin by saying how you view them to be close siblings who always follow each other but success would still overrule money in more than one ways. When you are successful, it is almost a surety that money will flow but money cannot always define success. To be successful one needs to work hard and in the right direction so that your earn respectable position and fame too with righteously earned money. Money can be earned in ways that are morally and ethically incorrect but that would not earn you respect enough to be called successful.

"I believe in earning respect and reputation along with success righteously. Money cannot always buy these things. However, money incentivizes one to work harder and be successful so I think success is more important and money obviously flows along if you are have all the success."
