What is product line?

Product line is the range of related products which uses similar marketing efforts to reach the consumer. Eg. Hindustan Lever has its range of different soaps like Lux,Rexona,Liril, Lifebuoy, which comprise its product line apart from which it also has its range of shampoos, detergents and creams. It helps to identify those products which are profitable to a company and those that are unprofitable, so that the organisation can accordingly allocate its resources.
