What is product support?

When we buy any goods from a shop say electronic items like a mobile handset, we receive the instruction manual, product information booklet, phone number and website address of the company etc. in addition to the handset. Product support is that service which is provided by the manufacturer or retailer to the end consumer and which equips the consumer with the necessary information related to the product and any help in case of the product performance failure. It even informs the consumer about the details of the organisation which has manufactured the product, so that if the customer has any queries or doubts , they can directly contact the customer service cell of that organisation. It may even include free repairs and maintenance of the product.
