What is public relations?

Public relations or PR is basically about managing the communication- both internal and external to an organisation, in order to create and retain the goodwill or reputation of the company and its business that it is into. It entails highlighting the achievements of the company, keeping the public informed or updating them regarding any changes or new things happening with the company, maintaining relationships with the investors , participating in charitable causes etc. Business is a part and parcel of the society within which it functions, hence arises the role of public relations.
