What is the admission process at ICWAI?
I am a student of 10+2 from CBSE Board and I want to study in The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI). What is their admission structure and when does the admission begin for fresher?
ICWAI offers online registration after which students can appear in the examinations that are held by the institution. These selection exams are held twice a year by ICWAI usually during the month of June and December. The exams are carried out at different test centers of the country, including the three overseas centers in Dubai, Oman and at Botswana. If you want to appear the entrance test in the month of June, you will have to register before 17th December of preceding year and if you are willing to appear for the December Entrance Examination, you will have to complete the registration procedure themselves before 25th June. Postal Tuition as well as Oral Coaching is provided along with registration procedure. With the declaration of results you will be notified if you have secured a seat. The course is divided into three parts:
• Foundation Course of ICWAI: the duration of this course is 6 months and it is the preliminary level and compulsory for students who have passed 10+2. You will have to pass this level as to get in to the next level.
• Intermediate Course of ICWAI: this is the second part of the course and the duration of this course is 1 year. If you apply in ICWAI after completing your graduation, you can directly register to this course without having to go through the foundation course.
• Final Course of ICWAI: this is the last part and the duration of course is 1 year. You will have to pass the intermediate course to be eligible for this part and at the completion of this part; you will go through practical trainings. With the conclusion of the practical training, you will become a certified Cost and Management Accountant.
