What is the career prospect for Homeopathy in modern times? Has it lost its importance to advanced medical science? I am a student of 10+2 Science and I am willing to take homeopathy for advanced studies but I am confused. Please help me.

Homeopathy and modern medical science does not affect the popularity of each other. People still prefer homeopathic medicines for various diseases, especially in the long run. Homeopathic doctors are in high demand particularly for diseases that allopathic medicine can't cure in adequate ways. Homeopathic is considered to be a flexible career option since one can later in life and one can persist until older age. Advantage is that you can work part time also or build up an active practice and expand into a full time occupation with good advancement in earning. You can be very successful in this field if you are competent to attract patients. You will earn popularity with experience and then you may move onto running seminars, tutorials, teaching at colleges/universities or supervising students and other practitioners and writing articles, books and health journals. Homeopaths may get involved in homoeopathic research, or advise manufacturers on the production of homoeopathic medicines.

There are two types of courses available in Homeopathy: Diploma in Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery (DHMS) of 4 years duration, including 1-year of Internship and Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) of 4 ½ Years + 1 year Internship. The Central Council of Homoeopathy, a statutory body under Government of India, is the chief body taking care of education, training and related declarations of Homoeopathy. All the courses that you pursue must be recognised by Homoeopathy Central Council Act 1973.
