University education is more than the next level in the learning process and is a essential component of human development worldwide. It provides the high-level skills necessary for every labor market and also the training required for doctors, nurses, civil servants, engineers, teachers, architects, entrepreneurs, scientists, social scientists and other personnel. It is these trained individuals who develop the capacity and analytical skills that drive local economies, support civil society, teach children, lead responsible governments and make important decisions which affect entire societies.
An educated class is critical in today’s world, with the visible impacts of globalization, the increasing importance of knowledge acts as a trigger of growth and helps information and communication revolution. Knowledge collection and application have become major factors in economic progress and are increasingly at the core of a country’s competitive advantage in the global economy.
The recent World Bank study Globalization, Growth, and Poverty: Building an Inclusive World Economy, describes how 24 developing countries that integrated themselves more closely into the global economy experienced higher economic growth, a reduced incidence of poverty, a rise in the average wage, an increased share of trade in gross domestic product, and improved health outcomes. These countries had simultaneously raised their rates of participation in higher education.

- University education has its own importance in establishing the career of a person. The education gives a wider perspective to gather information and gain knowledge in the field of interest. This part of education is also called higher education, as it qualifies a person and categorises to a specific stream to carry on with his / her career path.
Till the school level, an individual is bound to have the basic level knowledge of all the subjects. Though they choose on with a stream of study, still they have to get hold of various other topics which is hardly of their interest. Unlike this, the University education paves the path of interest for the individual.
Also, this is the phase of life when a person learns to get hold of life with respect to self-restriction and responsibilities. Higher education is still a distant dream for many people across the world. In the US, expensive tuition fees often make it impossible for people to study beyond a certain point. In countries like India, there is a gender inequity when it comes to education. More girls are barred from pursuing higher education in conservative countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan. Worldwide, accessing university education has become tougher now. But attending university has a great advantage for students of all ages. Students attend university so that they can gain a strong understanding of their subject and access a good job.
