Basically an analyst usually studies an entire industry, observing and assessing the current trends in business practices and industry competition. You should keep track of all the new regulations and policies that are a factor in affecting the industry. Once the short listing of the companies, which are a good investment option, is done, an analyst meets the top management of these companies and gathers detailed information about the company. After all the meeting and gathering of information, the analyst needs to prepare a report on that particular company. Writing reports is the major part of an analyst’s job.
