What should be the contents of a good training programme for the sales force?

There are no such hard and fast rules as far as the contents of the training program are concerned. It is basically the subject matter of the training that matters. A training programme may differ according to different organisations depending upon the product, markets, company policies , ability of the trainees etc. A good training programme should cover the following aspects:

a.job knowledge
b.the product itself
c.information about the organisation and the business that it is into.
d.the markets and its target customers
e.who are the competitors of the product
f. what sales techniques are to be followed.
