Where can I work after graduation in Sociology? Is post graduation necessary?

I am a student of BA Sociology honors. There are a lot of options to choose from after a graduation in sociology and that’s what makes me confused these days. Please suggests me careers after graduation where I can work with groups or organizations for various kind of works and not for a particular community concentrating on a particular group of people. Is post-graduation necessary for a good career in sociology?

Sociology indeed has the vulnerability of choices after graduation and that is one of the major reasons why most people opt for this subject. After graduation in sociology, you can work with various non-governmental organizations and non-profitable organizations that are run by the government for raising the living standard of various sections of the underprivileged in India. There are research organizations that work on diverse areas, just as you want to. In law enforcement & corrections field too there are diverse works that might be of your interest. You can consider advertisement, marketing and journalism too.

Regarding post-graduation programs, you need to first decide your direction for career and that will decide the specialization of your masters program. Most of these will be research based, concentrating on a PhD.
