Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
PM Narendra Modi urged local masses to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi`s dream of Clean India. He launched the Swachh Bharat Campaign at Rajpath in New Delhi. He called it as a paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, on their birth anniversary. He urged people that it is the social responsibility of Indian citizens to accomplish Gandhiji`s vision of Clean India by year 2019. He even said that the vision can only come true only when 125 crore people of India work for it. Let us share our views on the matter. Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
Yes
• It is not wise to start thinking of the results first as it is said that perform actions without considering the results.
• PM Narendra Modi came on the streets to start the mission, and this step cannot be ignored by his many followers.
• PM initiated the chain by inviting nine public figures for campaign including Sachin Tendulkar, Shashi Tharoor, Mridula Sinha, Baba Ramdev, Anil Ambani, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kamal Hasan, and the entire team of Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chashma.
• Gujarat, which was a destroyed state, after a series was natural disaster, was rebuilt by Narendra Modi, and he was successful in making it a clean and prosperous state.
No
• Every task needs follow up and just one day working to fulfill the vision will not convert Swachh Bharat Campaign into reality.
• The celebrities will also come for one day to promote the cause and will get busy with their schedules in future. It is the same case with every person in India.
• The youngsters can only create hype on social media by sharing blogs, praising efforts of PM, and posting his pictures. No one will take a broom and actually become a part of the movement.
• In a economy where inflation is rising, growth is slowing, jobs are declining, who has got the time to devote to such campaigns.
• More than the cleaning drive, it is the people's attitude that needs a change. If we keep making our surroundings dirty, we can never make India clean.
Conclusion
PM Narendra Modi is known for his actions. Whenever he starts a mission, gives everything to complete it. The development of Gujarat is the finest example of his work. However, this time it is a big challenge where he needs to change mentality of crores of people living in India. He has started well, and message is spreading well. It needs to be continued by PM Modi by launching some or other form of measures to encourage the people for making the vision of Swachh India a reality by 2019.

- Involving celebs with HUGE fan base is a very smart move by our honorable PM . The impression of BHAI holding a broom will stay like forever in the hearts his fans. No doubt that the mentality needs to be changed but slowly and steadily people will change.
N yes follow ups have been taken as there is a team that penalizes you when you try to make the major stations of Mumbai. Surely more things like this has to be done, but then this is a start. Also all the BABUs will have to work on 2nd October despite of enjoying their holidays.
CSR has played a major role in changing the fortunes of the companies hence people have started understanding its worth and there part in the same.

- I am hopeful that it will succeed not certainly by 2019 but gradually. India is a big and Swachh Bharat is about the whole country. Changing a state and country are 2 different things. No doubt this is a great initiative and everyone should join it. But the truth is it is not possible that everyone will support it and get involved in it.
To make it successful both govt and people of India should work hand in hand.
It am sure one day it will become successful. This mission has atleast changed the mind set of many people. Regular advertisements and announcements for keeping our vicinity clean have forced many people to think before dropping any waste on the roads. So its not about what govt. is doing it is more about how we respect and follow this initiative. If we fulfill our duties it will certainly be a success - RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Saket Saurav (08/24/16)
- The campaign has an uncertain future, and that's so because its success or failure depends entirely on hoe the country's population is going to see and follow it. i personally believe that it will succeed. may be not by 2019, but in the long run India will really become a swacch land. Awareness never spreads like a forest fire. it will continue to knock every one's minds till they fully understand the good effects of it. The same will happen with Swacch Bharat abhiyan. It will succeed for sure.

- Hello Guys... I have an optimistic view on the success of the Swaccha Bharat Abjiyaan our respected prime minister Narendra modi has initiated. I think the campaign has great potential and if taken seriously by the population of india it will work wonders for the betterment of this nation. Tourism industry, transportation and infrastructure will get a boost and quality of life of the people in india will increase. Now to motivate a nation, we have to catch them when they are performing good and portray those positive actions so that the when people see the appreciation they want their bit and too and they will start reciprocating. So the media also will play a key factor in the success of this campaign
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Rohit (08/05/16)
- yup of course This campaign will success only all the people of India have to feel this campaign as our own people have to feel the whole country as our own home then the Day is very soon when India will be one of the clean and beautiful country in the real world.
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -prem (02/01/16)
- PM Narendra Modi urged people to step up and be part of clean india campaign. But in reality, how many really have joined this campaign ?? No one have time for such things like clean india and social work. Most people in India are fighting for survival.
On other scale, it doesn't matter what are you doing! you can find time always for social work if you want. From my point of view, It will bring great change in our society. People mind will shift from throwing garbage on road to dustbin !!!! I HOPE :)) - RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Zohaib (01/31/16)
- SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN– A FACT OR FICTION
‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ – “Clean India” has become quite popular since Modi government came to power. The Government is brimming with the elan of making India clean. But the point is, Are we people really active to take this challenge? or it is going to be another fiasco as we had seen in the past in terms of cleanliness programs.
Cleanliness is next to godliness- a phrase that has become cliché. Although we have been taught for maintaining ourselves clean because a healthy body, healthy mind and hence a healthy society can be developed by practicing this phrase. But the pathetic condition of our country in terms of cleanliness has raised some serious questions. Keeping this thing in mind, Modi Government started a campaign “Clean India” on 2nd October 2014. This campaign became very popular because it was started in an attractive manner. Although, ‘Clean India’ is not a new idea that was adopted by our PM but the way of introducing it to the people has attracted much attention.
This type of similar program was introduced on 1st April 1999 under the name of ‘Total Sanitation Campaign’ and renamed on 1st April 2012 as ‘Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan’. But the campaign was not as successful as it was expected to be. Now Mr. Modi has started it on the birth anniversary of Gandhiji being hopeful for a change in the mindset of Indians. He did some of the cleaning activity at Rajghat and then nominated some of the famous people from different backgrounds to take the initiative forward. Sachin Tendulkar from cricket, Salman khan from Bollywood, Sashi Tharoor from politics and many more. Actually, it was an idea to inculcate people of India by inspiring them through some of the icons of our country. An estimate of more than 4000 towns and cities have to be cleaned and to be provided with proper defecation and adequate sanitation system by the October of 2019 which will be the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi.
The success of ‘Clean India’ depends upon our proper initiative. A number of villages have still open defecation in India and that causes a lot of embarrassment to the women of the society. Apart from that, open defecation outspreads some of the perilous diseases such as Cholera, Dengue, etc. The conditions of sanitation in villages are still worst and that certainly needs to be improved. This is the thought behind incorporating construction of lakhs of proper defecation places throughout the India under this program. But mere funding and passing rules are not enough to eradicate this problem which is vivid seeing the earlier programs in the past and that is why PM has started to motivate people. If we people will start understanding the necessity of keeping our locality clean then only Swachh Bharat will be successful.
Foreign countries have their stringent rules and the people over there are committed but here in India even educated people don’t bother about throwing litters at a right place. Although some people who want to maintain cleanliness hardly finds any dustbin or proper place to throw waste stuff which compels them to do what others are doing. So there is a requirement of proper action to be taken such as installing dustbins on the roadside and improving sanitation in order to improve cleanliness. We have to go hand in hand with the government and try to suppress our habit of throwing stuff here and there in order to make our city clean and beautiful.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan- Clean India is pretty thoughtful initiative towards cleanliness. Although the concept is like an old wine in a new bottle but the fact states that it is mandatory to build a healthy nation. We all have to participate in it by providing the efforts necessary to make our society clean in order to achieve a target of Clean India by 2019 to prove that the concept is a must ‘Fact’ and not a mere fiction. - RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Deepak (08/15/15)
- Dear all
from my.point.of.view swach bharat campaign.is.success only.when the every people understand their.duties about.their country.and their reslonsibilties for the nation
India has the largest population in the world if everyone became the lM modi.then this camlaign will get succsed i.mean everyone should aware.about their responsibilites After.that mahatma gandhies.dream is. success - RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -prasanta kumar dhal (08/13/15)
- yes.it would be possible in one way.1-we will try to change our mentality and putting the gabrage at right place, everybody realize their responsibility on swatch bharat. i think in this way ,i would be possible.
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -murrailan (07/09/15)
- good evening friends ,
my opinion is that each individual have to think of that "every one's duty is nobody duty".if people came to know this then no need of special camp swach barath. - RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -PRIYA JOSHI (06/14/15)
- Good afternoon everyone
Initiating any campaign either its SWACHH BHARAT or anyone else for a positive change of society is a very good step and MODI ji has done a very good job. But will it be successful or not depends not only on the government but citizens of country also do have a crucial role to play in other words Success of SWACHH BHARAT campaign depends on the combined effort of public as well as government.
Government need
1) to give pace to the recruitment process in MCD for the various posts lieing vacant.
2) Government need to deploy honest, punctual and strict officials to monitor the proper functioning of the department.
3) Government needs to pay safai karamcharis and all other people on time, so that they get financial satisfaction and come on time regularly.
4) Government need to place dustbins at every 100m distance everywhere so that public put waste in the dustbin.
5) There should be a proper disposal of waste generated everyday.
Citizens need
1) Not to through any kind of garbage on roads, footpath or in their surroundings. Throw garbage in dustbin and if not available put in in your bags and later on throw it in your household dustbin.
2) They should not spit and urination on roads, on walls, on footpath or any place in their surroundings. Spitting should be done in dustbin and urination in bio toilets available on roads.
Both government as well as citizens need to change themselves if they really want SWACHH BHARAT campaign to succeed. - RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -mona (06/14/15)
- It suceess or failure totaly depends on us ,the govt is doing every possible effort for its success but taking a broom and start cleaning for a day can't clean the country rather we should adopt a right way to dump up the garbage .people should be made aware about this. We should stop throwing chips and other packets on street after eating ..!! But as our pm narendra modi took initiative of this n he is a role model of many so I think this can be a success (it might take time bt I think it will)
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -anshu (06/14/15)
- this campaign is succeed only when each and every people concern about clean India as they concern over their house if people are start to clean their streets, road and surrounding and give only 1hr. daily in that mission then it may be succeed till 2oct 2019. as our Honorable p.m start this campaign by many celebrities like salman khan, sachin tendulkar, mirdula sinha, anil ambani and entire team of the popular show taark mehta ka ooltah chasma and the fans of them should not ignore them and they follow their footprint in this campaign and it will be succeed.........
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Soumen Maity (06/13/15)
- I will tell only 2 things,
1. Its totally depend on peoples mentality and attitude. Unless they became aware of the environment of India it will never succeed.
2. 2nd thing is the alternate way. Government should create s strict restriction that whoever will be seen to throw thing here and there without using dustbins, they have pay the fine, and the amount of the fine should be quite large.
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Sasanka (06/07/15)
- We see people spit on roads, throw plastic bottles, used cups lying on the road and many more. Let us look at the apartments in the colonies they maintain it neat, people daily water the lawn in their houses, they don't even let a single glass window break which costs them a bit of money to repair, they also mention with a strict warning sign not to paste any pamplets or any on the walls. The difference between the two cases is the peoples attitude, people should start believing that roads in front of their buildings is also their property to maintain. If every shop keeper on the road and every houseman in the colony maintains neatness not only within the shop/house but also just a few foot steps outside his area it would really make a difference and ninety percent of the task is completed

- Swatch Bharat Campaign commenced on 2nd October to commemorate the ideas of mahatma Gandhi . But in the name of Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan a huge sum of money has been collected by government so far. Funds collected have hardly been spent and no focus has been put on whether people's attitude have changed. Brand ambassadors were called on the day of commencement of Swachh Bharat Campaign but no stringent rules were made to make this campaign successful . Government is simply making money out of this campaign which clearly appears as no implementation can be observed on ground level. Sweepers and people have to be motivated to keep surrounding clean to make this campaign a success. Till now Swachh Bharat Campaign is just a failiure by modi government.

- yes ,Swachh Bharat campaign is a good initiative took by our PM Narendra Modi. Now it's our responsibility to join hands and we should work out to keep our country clean.
For that we don't need to pick up broom and clean the roads the thing we must do is that we must dispose our garbages properly that doesn,t harm our environment
New laws must be passed in the parliament that actions must be taken if someone destroys the environment
our systems need to be developed..dustbins must be placed in every corners of cities ,towns and villages so that it induces people to throw garbages in the dustbin - RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -deeksha gupta (02/09/15)
- acording to m point of view-yes!!! definately it will succeed if all the peeps give their contribution in their own way lyk we should through garbage in dustbins if dere is no dusbin around u thn put in into ur pocket or bag.....
to motivate othrs, peeps who works in this camp should through camps in colonies nd public places....means if d chain that our PM starts by giving d responsiblity to othr 4 SBA should furthr.....
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -vaishali (02/06/15)
- According to me government should have to start awareness programme and tell to people what is the effect of this activities if we will not changed yet soon posssible. Second step should be dustbins will be placed place to place and last or third step for stubborn people will be fine only.
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -BISWADEEP BANDYOPADHYAY (02/05/15)
- I don't know why some people are telling inflation, raising job demands... are causing hinderence to this campaign.... This campaign only requires positive and clean mentality... nothing else...You don't need to take the broom and clean the places,...just don't throw garages in roads,... use dustbins... nothing else. If no one throws garbages, then there is no need of taking the stress to clean it... just don't throw garbages anywhere...
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -naman (02/05/15)
- with due respect to all your views my friends,
PM Modi has initiated the project with a target and every mission needs a goal which is, in this context, oct 2019.
campaign will be a success or not ,nobody can say.
celebrities who joined this campaign and still doing their duties, nobody knows.
what we know is everyone of us are living in India and have the responsibility to take care of it .
it is a beautiful project initiated by PM Modi and we can contribute by doing our bit and make our nation clean.
Complaining about that their are no dustbins will not benefit us but if u really want to do it then the people who go by car can keep the trash in their car by the time they reach home, people carrying handbags can put a spare paper bag in which they could throw trash like chips rapper etc.
trust me friends ,i and my friends have started doing this and people around us have started doing the same.
So the nation is eventually in your hands. what you can do you should and rest let government play their role.
and if everybody plays their role then this mission will surely be a success. - RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -vishal (02/05/15)
- Well swach Bharat dream is no doubt a very good concept which nt created or generated by modi hi.he just wanna retake this issue and that's very good.our neighbour ,relative and even parents usually talking about the clean out surrounding but we never care or if we care for short term.when when a powerful land no doubt favorte CM modi hi started such campaign which in every ones mind but he never care starts caring and hope not He but we will succeed.
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -vimlesh ojha (02/04/15)
- surely. it succed. we today seeeing the result of this mission that peoples starts cleaning their streets, making awerness about cleaness, and keeping surrounding clean. i also created a group in our colony and running cleaning programs. so due to these changes we can say that it succeed.
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Nisha Agrawal (02/04/15)
- swachh bharat campaign will be successful only when the people realizes the fact that cleanliness is must. keeping their own house clean is not enough. the environment they live their surrounding should also be clean. but in india people whether educated or uneducated they are eperts in littering garbage anywhere and everywhere. they might soon create a record in the guiness book for creating grbage. so i think it is only in the hands of people to make it successful.

- not only the common man its the responsibility of the municipality people to clean regularly the dust bin which was placed at the end of the street. every one will put the dust in it and when it is filled no one is draining it and again the people starting to throw the dust in and around the dustbin which was giving foul smell to near by houses. so municipality people also feel responsibility to clean all dustbins regularly
- RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Shane (01/25/15)
- according to me,before we certify that swatch Bharat campaign will succeed or not.we have to many factors on which success of any campaign depends. mai factor affecting any successful campaign is human attitude towards that campaign.in INDIA people are sadist for any government leading campaign in which support of people needed.if all 125 crore people decided that it is our responsibility to clean our near, then no doubt India will be cleaned in just 24 hours.no one government Can clean such a big country itself which population is more than 125 crores.so,in the last I want ti say INDIA can clean / make swatch by the participation of all not by just one or few hundreds.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR VALUABLE TIME. - Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? -Senthil Kumar (01/23/15)
