Banning New Year parties and fashion shows saves our culture

New Year Parties and fashion shows are a part of the western culture. They are not an inherent part of India’s culture.

For:
- Fashion shows being a part of the western culture involves wearing of skimpy clothes which is against the Indian culture
- Often the new year parties also involve the consumption of drugs, which is not a part of the Indian culture and also has ill-effects on the health of the individual

Against:

- Publicly a huge chunk of the public will not be alacritous to accept such an embargo and hence they will show disagreement against this.
- It’s not just the New Year parties or fashion shows that have been adopted by India, there are lot of other things that have also affected the Indian culture like, the western attire, movies and music. When we are accepting all these things then why should be a ban imposed only on the New Year parties or fashion shows?
- The stratagem of the government to realm the Indian culture ought to be to get hold of those who are accountable for breaking the rules
- It is our culture only that has given us acknowledgement and termed us as a ‘developing nation’
- Fashion industry is gradually catching up in India as well; today we have graduate as well as post-graduate courses giving a career opportunity to the people.

Conclusion:

- Ban is not the solution for anything. Culture is a part which is indoctrinated right from childhood and hence people can be influenced by western culture will not make it as a part of their life.

    For:

    - The culture of fashion shows and new year parties in India has been borrowed from western culture which is becoming like a slow poison penetrating the youth of the country, thus leaving no space in any respect whatsoever for their own rich heritage.
    - The party culture and fashion shows have a tendency to promote unrestricted freedom and hence the disrespect for morals of Indian culture, which calls for a ban on these western traditions to save our Indian culture.
    - There are many stories of rave parties and drug addiction among people of all ages especially teenagers which are self-descriptive and hence show the ill-effects of the tradition.
    - The fashion world is deeply embedded into the habits of taking drugs especially the models who in the blind desire to look the best get into it so badly, which is way outside the realms of Indian culture.
    - On the one hand, Indian culture gives respect to the women. On the other, the fashion world has increased the number of cases of sexual harassment and rape. Hence, banning these ill traditions has become a prerequisite for the improvement of the existing conditions.
    - Wrong set of beliefs and morals are being developed by the freedom given by party system, now it is common to see teenagers disrespect their parents and hence, defy the very basics of Indian culture.
    - Noting this fact that the glamour and attractiveness of parties and fashion shows is inescapable even for the most morally upright, a ban becomes a necessity.
    - Fashion shows being a part of the western culture involves wearing of skimpy clothes which is against the Indian culture.
    - Often the new year parties also involve the consumption of drugs, which is not a part of the Indian culture and also has ill-effects on the health of the individual.

    Against:

    - There are lots of things which are borrowed from western culture like western attire, music, and movies etc which have been adopted by Indians. When no ban has been put on those things then why there should be any ban imposed only on the New Year parties or fashion shows. If things are enjoyed within certain limits and in the right way then there is no need to put a ban on anything.
    - Fashion shows and New Year parties are not the only reasons which are affecting our culture. Banning of such things will have harsh impact socially, as a very large part of the society will not be willing to accept such a ban.
    - The Indian culture is about respecting elders, keeping integrity intact and not about the absence of free will.
    - It is government’s duty to make laws on the basis of what is right and what is wrong. Their strategy to preserve Indian culture should be to get the necks of those who are responsible for breaking such laws and limits. The entire industry should not suffer for the wrongs of a few who fail to observe rules and practice self control.
    - Our culture is an active part of the society and this culture has been the pride of our country from years. Our culture is a huge aspect of our identity everything like our national anthem, our struggle for freedom, our secularistic behavior, languages compactly form our culture. Nothing needs to be stopped in order to support our culture.
    - Fashion industry is growing worldwide adding lot to our country’s economy and moreover fashion has now entered to the field of education as well giving lots of career opportunity to the people. So it is our sole responsibility to support it and not to put it down.
