Railway track cleaning machine launched


The northern railway launched the Railway track cleaning machine in New Delhi after various such attempts. The machine has the capacity to store 6 MT of waste and is also equipped with a strong vacuum cleaner. Railway tracks, normally have waste like polythene, paper bags, plastic bottles etc. and this machine developed by the northern railway is apt to maintain sanity on railway tracks.

Economic Freedom of states of India” report 2013


In a list of 20 states in India, Gujarat ranks at the top position in the resport “Economic Freedom of states of India” in terms of the “economic freedom” which takes into account governance, growth, citizen’s rights, business environment, labour availability etc. Tamil Nadu ranks at second position.

India’s second nuclear fuel complex


The country’s second nuclear fuel complex will be made in Kota, Rajasthan and necessary orders from the union govt. have been passed in that context. The complex will be made at the budget of Rs. 2,400 crore and will have the facility to reprocess atomic fuel. India’s first nuclear fuel complex is developed at Hyderabad and the second one is in sync with the 12th Plan, in which India aims to increase its nuclear energy generation capacity to over 17,300 MWe, from over 5,500 MWe now.

RBI’s new norms regarding reconstruction of firms


RBI announced the new norms for securitization and reconstruction of firms. Under the new norms, companies will have to utilize a part of fund raised under any scheme for qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) for restructuring of financial assets acquired by them. Companies with acquired assets in excess of Rs. 500 crore can float the fund under a scheme which requires the absorption of part of the funds raised from QIBs. The limit of funds that can be exhausted for reconstruction should not be more than 25 per cent of the funds raised under the scheme.

European Union passed a law for common charger for all phones


The EU developed a law to develop a common charger for all mobile phones which are sold in the continent. The decision is aimed to put an end to charger clutters and save electricity amounting 51000 tons annually. The EU has become the first to pass such a law.

Naredra Modi to contest elections from two seats


BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi will contest loksabha elections from Varanasi in U.P. and Vadodara in Gujarat, the state of which he is the CM.
