The real democracy takes care of the minority rights

People talk about the democracy and the freedom that they enjoy with democracy. But is the country really enjoying democracy? The effectiveness of a true democratic country is reflects in how people are involved and connected with the government. It is also essential for the government to take care of all groups of people. If any group suffers, the democracy fails. Seeing the current events and news it is getting tougher to trust the democratic government. Do you agree with the statement that the real democracy takes care of the minority rights?

Yes

• A country is not formed of people who are in majority. All the people whether they are in majority or in minority are a part of the country.

• If the majority group dominates the minority group and makes them suffer, then the very idea of democracy fails.

• The cases that are happening in the UP are constantly worrying the entire country. Amy thing that impacts the entire country needs the treatment.

• Just because a larger group of people have the same opinion on matter doesn’t makes it right. People think men are superior to women but that is just an assumption far away from truth.

• If the voice of the small group goes unheard, then injustice is sure to happen. And when law fails, democracy fails.

No

• Democracy is not about taking care of the minorities; instead it is more about which type of government should be elected by the people of country.

• If the government gives special privileges to the minority it is the mockery of the democratic government.

• Giving importance to the minority group on the basis of religion is going against the principle of democracy.

• Unfair treatment is done not only to the minority groups but also to the majority groups. So should government give special privileges to the majority group?

• Classifying the country on basis of majority groups and minority groups creates the differences in the country making is feeble from the core base.

Conclusion

The real democracy do not classifies the groups on the basis of caste, religion or as majority or minority groups. It is about treating all the people and all the groups equal. It is the foremost duty of any democratic government to give equal rights to its people. It should also protect the minority group from oppression. But that doesn’t means the government should offer the special rights to the minority groups. A true democracy is about giving a better quality of life to all the citizens of the country without any discrimination.

  • Democracy in itself means equality. The word minority does not exist in democracy. The minority and majority factors are created on the various factors of caste, creed and religion. But when we visualize the actual definition of democracy, it does not differentiate anyone. Every citizen of the country is equal in democracy.

The very major note of the topic, the term “minority” gets excluded while talking of a democratic government. When we analyse the other aspect of the topic, i.e. democracy taking care of the rights; then yes democracy does take care of the rights of all its citizens, irrespective of the minority and majority factor.

The true democratic government is the one which is elected by the people, not just the majority in terms of caste, creed or religion but majority in terms of number of votes taking every citizen of the country equal before law. With such a government, the rights definitely need to be taken care of, for each and every citizen.

Thus, to be precise, the real democracy takes care of the rights of all its citizens, be it minority or the majority. This should be the soul policy of effective democratic governance.

  • now here he must be clear what we are taking the definition of minority is it on basis of religion or sex, whatever it may be but i do believe neither of two majority or minority should be dominating in fact we are in an era where every person for any caste or sex gets equal opportunity it is just some of the people who make chaos out of this.yes domination on minority sex is a worst practice and people following the same should be harshly punished.
