What is Taxidermy?
Taxidermy is a field of art in which the deceased animals, birds, mammals, fishes etc. are re-constructed for educational and representational purpose. It can also be referred to as the art of preserving, tanning and mounting the skin of a deceased animal.
The animals which are taxidermied are usually the victims of some kind of accidents.
What is the job profile of a taxidermist?
A taxidermist performs following tasks –
- Removing the skin of the animal
- Creating a duplicate body structure
- Designing artificial eyes and teeth
- Arranging the whole body to make it look real
