Women should leave their job to look after their children.

Women should leave their job to look after their children.

The world has changed a lot. In today’s world men and women equally contribute in running a family. It is not easy to earn bread and butter today which is forcing both the partners to work. Even the conservative families have accepted the change. But the real problem comes when women transforms into mother. At that time the dilemma arises whether to leave the job or to continue the job? Should women leave their job to look after their children?

Yes
• Mother is the first person with whom child gets connected even before coming in this world. They need their mother’s time in the initial years.

• Child caretaker cannot pay the same attention as much as a mother. Also, there is no surety of proper upbringing and care in absence of mother.

• Children who feel deprived of mother’s love can get depressed and aggressive. This development of aggression is not good for a child’s health and its future.

• The money spent on child care can be utilized for many other constructive purposes which can benefit the family as well as community.

• If both mother and father are working then they cannot become a part of children’s school activities or find it tough to attend their social events.

• Early childhood is the time for children’s overall development whether it is a physical, mental or emotional.

No

• Why should only the women need to compromise with their career? Fathers can also do the same.

• When women take care of home as well as career she is seen with great respect from her children. She becomes a role model for their children.

• It is a tough world today where inflation is forcing both men and women to work for meeting the financial needs. In such a scenario women cannot leave her job.

• Many women are highly skilled and well educated. Forcing them to stay at home is simply the waste of their talents.

• If the children are kept at a reputed child care then it is beneficial for them. Children stay with other children and feel happy and involved.

Conclusion

Leaving the job is not an ideal solution. Mother’s love and care is important for a child but it doesn’t guarantees the right upbringing of child. However, the focus should be on finding right alternative care where children will not miss the company of her mother. Also, mother should try to give the rest of the time to children so that they don’t feel neglected. Active participation should be there in all the activities of children.

  • Though India talks a lot regarding equality of women, but the Indian society still retains its narrow minded attitude towards domination of women in comparison to men. Men is considered to be the earning hand and women are advocated with the task of taking care of the children and other house-hold works.

Even if a men comes forward to take care of children by leaving his job, and they mutually decide for the wife to be the working hand; our society keeps spitting its rubbish virtues and views, creating a hell for the family. Women can act very well as a working partner and provide good financial support to the family. Still there always remains a expectation that she need to complete all the house-hold tasks along with her profession.

Equality seems just on paper. Leaving a job, getting out of the profession for few years creates a big backdrop in her career, which hardly anyone cares about. There is no hard and fast rule for the women to quit her career and focus on the children completely. It can be the mutual decision of the couple whom to take care of the child.
