The Press Trust of India is the largest news agency in India and was established in the year 1949. It is headquartered at Delhi and provides news service to more than 450 Indian newspapers. It exchanges the news service between more than 100 news agencies, which are based outside India, such as AP, Reuters etc. PTI has its offices in Colombo, Dubai, Moscow, Washington DC, New York, Islamabad and Bangkok. It is the only news agency in South Asia which operates its own satellite – INSAT, to broadcast the news and information.
