Discussion Board
Explanation
A hypothesis or hypotheses is a tentative statement which can be tested to bring out the logical or empirical consequences. It is not necessary that a hypotheses statement should be always true. It can also be proved as an incorrect statement. A hypotheses is used to define the relationship between any two variables (independent and dependent variables). A independent variable can be altered anytime and is considered to be the cause of any change. The dependent variable is the outcome of the change which is caused by the independent variable. A hypotheses should be clear, understandable and measurable. The null hypothesis states that there is no relationship between the variables and it is expected to be true until the statistical evidences nullify it. It is denoted by H0. Alternative hypotheses are the sample observations which are influenced by some non-random cause. It is usually denoted by H1 or Ha.
