Explain Suspension.

Suspension from duty means keeping an employee away from work-place temporarily for reasons of discipline. Suspension does not mean removal from service. If a person is suspended, he continues to be in service. Suspension may be ordered as a punishment. It is different from suspension pending enquiry. Suspension as a penalty can be imposed on an employee after the completion of the formalities of the disciplinary proceedings.
