Explain what is BIOS and where is it present?

- The BIOS can be considered to be a software which is built into a system, it is the first code that is executed once a computer is powered on.

- The BIOS first performs a test known as POST, this is used ot detect all the peripherals and components of the system.

- The BIOS code is generally stored in a non-volatile ROM chip which is placed in the motherboard.

- In modern system the BIOS code can be changed without having to replace the chip itself from the motherboard.
