HCL Technologies Limited is an IT service company, headquartered in Noida, India. The company was established in 1976. It is a subsidiary of HCL Enterprise. The company has offices in 34 countries including the United States, European countries like France and Germany, and Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom.

Here, I am going to discuss the selection and interview process conducted in campus placement at HCL.

Selection Process at HCL

The selection process at HCL consists of four rounds:

1. Written Test
2. Group Discussion
3. Technical Round
4. HR Round

The first round is Written Test. The test contains 20 questions from various parts of grammar section. It is mainly to test the basic English of the candidates. Questions asked are:

1. Scarcely had i)/ he gone ii)/ when an inspector iii)/ knocked at the door. iv)/ No error v)

2. Labourer is related to Wages as Entrepreneur is related to _____?
(a) Interest (b) Taxes (c) Profit (d) Loan

Second round is Group Discussion. A candidate must require immense practicing, learning and studying the GD topics.

Some important GD topics are:

- Smart Cities in India
- TV is no longer an idiot box?
- Is Work Experience Required for an MBA?
- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan & its effectiveness
- Is Automation in normal lives boon or bane?

Candidate must be aware about the current affairs and latest happenings.

Technical Interview at HCL

Third round is Technical Interview. Candidates are required to prepare thoroughly from the technical sections as the interviewer asks questions from whole syllabus. They will check your technical knowledge and what logic do you apply for solving problems.

Questions asked in this interview are:

1. When is the type checking usually done?
2. How many states are present in the smallest finite automaton which accepts the language {x I length of x is divisible by 3}?
3. In serial transmission why every byte of data is padded with a 0 in the beginning and one or two 1’s at the end of byte?

HR Interview at HCL

Last round is HR Interview. The HR person will check the communication and logical skills required for the recruitment. So, be confident and answer honestly.
