In the psychographic segmentation, buyers may be classified on the basis of:

a.Life-style: this includes the tastes, habits and preferences of the consumers eg. a shopping mall could be a common hangout particularly for the youth. Lifestyle also includes the standard of living of the people and their beliefs and attitudes.

b.Personality:Here the brand personality corresponds to consumer personalities. Eg. Raymonds has its tagline as ‘the complete man’ to its fabrics.

c.Social Class: Whether the consumers belong to the upper class ,upper middle class, lower middle class or lower class, products may be accordingly segmented. Eg. TATA Nano which was introduced in the market at an incredible price of rupees one lakh, keeping in view the middle and lower income groups.
