The target market is the market towards which the organization intends to cater to. For eg. A five star hotel maybe targeted towards the celebrities and the business class. Lifebuoy soaps initially targeted towards the rural market and the labour class, later on also expanded its target market to the family in urban markets as well.This target market is determined after selecting the criteria for segmentation which may depend upon the age group or income level or occupation and so on. For eg. Coca Cola started out on its soft drinks business targeting the family.
